PTS I

There’s a gap in my heart.

I thought it had healed

But it didn’t.

I filled it with flowers

Planted them carefully

But when they scattered

All that was left was a gaping maw of scar tissue

Wide as a lake

Deep as the ocean

And still wet from the old tears

That filled it once

That made the flowers grow in the first place.
